In the 2010 Winter Salary Survey, The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) identifies the most lucrative college major, as measured by the starting salaries of those earning bachelor degrees. The results are especially meaningful (and exciting!) for students pursuing an engineering career. Eight out of the top ten spots are within the career cluster: Petroleum, $86,000; Chemical, $65,000; Mineral and Mining, $65,000; Computer, $61,000; Electrical/Electronics & Communications, $59,000; Mechanical, $58,000; Industrial/Manufacturing, $58,000 and Aerospace, $57,000. The only other majors landing on the top of the list include Computer Science, $61,000 and Information Sciences and Systems, $54,000. Read more at www.naceweb.org.
