IECA National Conference- Cincinnati, Ohio

The Independent Educational Consultants Association semi-annual conference began yesterday with hundreds of IECA members as well as admissions representatives from colleges,independent and day schools around the nation. The kick-off general session, The Future of Education: A Conversation Among College Presidents, featured Dr. Bobby Fong, Butler University, Dr. Rock Jones, Ohio Wesleyan University, and Dr. Owen Williams, Transylvania University. Within a liberal arts and sciences context, each spoke of the importance for schools to continue to encourage students to ask the larger questions and search for a life’s purpose. All are preparing for tomorrow with an eye on faculty excellence and teaching innovation to ensure that students have opportunities to seek a wide range of knowlege. Butler University, www.butler.edu: located in Butler, Indiana- a 290 acre campus, 4,000 undergraduates, 8 miles from Indianapolis, Colleges of Liberal Arts Sciences, Business, Education, Communication, Fine Arts, Pharmacy & Health Sciences; Ohio Wesleyan University, www.owu.edu: located in Delaware, Ohio- a 200 acre campus, 2,000 undergraduates, 20 miles from Columbus, Liberal Arts; Transylvania University, www.transy.edu: located in Lexington, Kentucky,a 35 acre campus, 1,200 undergraduates, three blocks from downtown/Bluegrass Section, Liberal Arts.
