Are you searching for a college that’s concerned about its carbon footprint? Six hundred college presidents across the country have signed a contract entitled the Presidents Climate Commitment to focus on issues of climate change within their campus environs.Davidson College in North Carolina has set goals to reduce the use of plastic water bottles and food waste as well as increase recycling campus wide. Villanova University in Pennsylvania has incorporated sustainability into its curriculum. Courses offered range from policy classes to sustainable product design. Villanova students now have an option to minor in sustainability and or pursue a Masters in sustainable engineering. Bowdoin College in Maine offers green transportation with its ZipCar and Yellow Bike Club programs. In searching for campuses that meet your eco-friendly conscience, take a good look at college websites to find out what polices are in place.
