If you’re passionate about cooking, look no further. The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) offers both culinary arts degrees and certificate programs at captivating campuses in New York, California, Texas and Singapore. Depending on whether you’re right out of high school, already hold a Bachelors Degree or plan to change careers, prospective students can choose from a: 1) Bachelor of Professional Studies Degree in Culinary Arts Management (38 months); 2) Associate in Occupational Studies in Culinary Arts (21 months); and 3) Degree Program for Advanced Career Experience Students, (15 months). While sharpening your skills in the classroom and local food establishments, you can also plan an 18 week externship at such celebrated restaurants as Boyer Les Crayères, The Breakers Resort, The Broadmoor Hotel, Chocolatier Magazine, Circo at Bellagio, Connaught Hotel, Four Seasons Hotel, The Greenbrier, and The Lodge at Pebble Beach. For those who dream of elegant and rich desserts, CIA Bachelors and Associate Degree programs are also available in the Baking and Pastry Arts. And, for the wine enthusiast, apply to the historic CIA Greystone campus in Napa Valley and complete an Accelerated Wine and Beverage certificate. After a recent college tour in the magnificent Napa Valley region, I’m raving to anyone who will listen about the beauty and quality of this grand facility. The program is top notch and highly recommended by a recent grad I spoke with who now serves as the Food and Beverage Director at a local Relais & Chateaux property.
